Intentional Interpretation of the Verses of Spending in "Ahkam alQur'an" by Al-Tahanawi

Abstract

Spending in the cause of Allah holds great significance in Islam, being a vital form of worship and a means of drawing closer to Allah. This spending can be obligatory or recommended depending on what is prescribed in Islamic law. The funds spent are directed towards various charitable causes, such as aiding the poor and needy, building mosques, education, health, and other avenues of good deeds. This contributes to social 
justice, solidarity, and spreading love and harmony among people. The obligatory form of spending is Zakat, which must be given on certain types of wealth. Some Zakat must be given to state officials and workers, while in some cases, individuals are allowed to distribute their Zakat themselves without involving the state. For visible wealth, owners must give their Zakat to state officials and are not permitted to distribute it to the poor directly. For hidden wealth, owners are allowed to give their Zakat directly to the poor, and the state is not permitted to demand it from them. All forms of spending in Islam follow a strong system designed to meet the needs of the poor within an Islamic state, providing numerous benefits and fulfilling many objectives, as explained by scholars based on the verses of the Quran and the Hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Among these scholars are the students of Shaykh Ashraf Ali Al-Tahanawi,
who provided an Intentional interpretation of the verses on spending in the tafsir "Ahkam al-Qur'an" by Al-Tahanawi. The researcher aims to elucidate the Intentional interpretation of the verses on spending from "Ahkam al-Qur'an" by Al-Tahanawi for the benefit of the reader
