Abstract

In this article, a comparative study of Hazrat Jesus' Sermon on the Mount and Hazrat Muhammad's Farewell Sermon regarding the establishment of peace is presented. In fact, religion and especially the Semitic religions and their founders, have remained the advocates of peace and tranquility, and unlike the thinking of contemporary materialistic people, they call the selfish demand for material, honor and position the main cause of unrest and anxiety. According to the Quran, (the fundamental religious book of Islam) the corruption in the universe is the selfishness and misbehavior of human beings. In the same way, the Christian Bible also blames the humans themselves for the same. The sermon of Hajjat Al-Wadaa consists of calling for peace and tranquility and the reasons and motivations connected with it and strictly following them. And this last sermon also makes it clear that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was a prophet and advocate of peace; because when a person begins to show signs of leaving his world, he keeps the gist of his life in front of his loved ones and advises the things that are most important to him.The Sermon on the Mount of Hazrat Jesus (AS) contains many details as compared to the sermon of Hijjatul -Wada, such as prohibition of adultery, love for enemies, teaching of charity, prayer, fasting and prohibition of fault-finding etc, some of which directly or indirectly indicate the establishment of peace. Both the sermons refer to the prohibition of usury and shedding of unjust blood, and having good company with wives and doing charity which are closely related to the establishment of peace
